• My heart stopped when I heard the loud sound of his hands hitting the desk. "I never thought you were this hard-headed, Lauren. Call me by my name," he exclaimed, anger visible in his voice.
• A wave of nervousness washed over me as I stood there, my chest thumping in fear. I had never seen him this angry before.
• I closed my eyes for a moment and then opened them again, steeling myself for what was to come. "I wasn't being hard-headed, Zevran. It's just unnecessary to call you by your name. But if you prefer that, then fine," I defended in a professional tone.
