Chapter 11 Ten

As he strode towards the door, I couldn't help but notice the familiar scent of his favorite perfume lingering in the air. Why did I feel like I was already missing him? I rolled my eyes at myself, chiding my own foolishness. I nervously nibbled on my lower lip as I followed him, trying to shake off the strange emotions stirring within me.
He held the office door open for me, gesturing for me to go ahead like the gentleman he always was. I stepped out into the hallway, and he followed, greeting his assistant with a bright smile that she returned in kind.
While we made our way through the hallway, he greeted everyone we passed, exchanging pleasantries and engaging in friendly conversations. It was just like him, always being friendly and nice to everyone he passed.
