Chapter 78 Seventy Seven

  • Zevran placed the drinks and a sandwich on the coffee table before sitting down beside me, wrapping his left arm around my waist. Feeling his warmth next to me, I glanced at Kristina as she grabbed a drink. It had been a month and three weeks since I last saw her, and now she had suddenly shown up.
  • I first noticed her neck-length short hair dyed in copper brown and her fake round eyeglasses. She had gained weight, no longer the skinny type she used to be. She was not wearing any makeup now, and I wondered why she changed her appearance. She wore a gray shirt that said "shit happened," which was not fitted and was tucked in with a pair of faded brown jeans and running shoes. She drank the juice she grabbed as if she had been dried out.
  • "Tell me everything, Kristina," I spoke up, shattering the uneasy silence between us. While Zevran stayed silent in his seat, waiting for one of us to break the ice, I decided to take charge. It was apparent that Kristina, who knows where she had been all this time, didn't seem to have any intention of speaking up.
