Chapter 45 Forty Four

• Yvaine, Kristina, and I did not leave the restaurant right away because we were still waiting for Brother Carter and Faith to leave. To avoid getting bored, we ordered more food, and it took about two hours before they finally left. We drove Kristina to the terminal, and we stayed until the van she was riding in left. Yvaine accompanied me home, and when my mom found out that Yvaine was with me, she didn’t send her home right away. The three of us spent time in the living room chatting about Yvaine’s departure for Paris. It was already nighttime when she left the house.
• Before I went to sleep, I called Sanna to see how she was doing. She was fine and told me her parents had come home from their anniversary honeymoon. Sanna informed me that she was planning to stay with her grandmother, who was in Canada, and live there with her child. She wanted me to manage the publishing house, but I initially refused. However, she forced me, saying that if I wouldn't accept it, then she would have no choice but to dissolve the publishing house. So, I accepted her offer.
• This day, I was accompanying my mother to the city for her weekly checkup. But before that, I went to Zevran’s office early, only to find out that he was not there. The woman at the lobby desk said that he was on a business trip and might be back next week. A business trip, huh! But he did not even answer my call or my text. Maybe he was upset with what Sanna said, so he ignored my call and message. I wondered how I could pay Mik. I had no choice but to wait for Zevran to come back next week, so I immediately went home.
