Chapter 36 Thirty Five

• The rain poured down outside the house, and the prenuptial agreement was supposed to take place today. However, due to the weather, it was postponed and rescheduled for the following Wednesday.
• I was looking out of my window, holding a cup of freshly brewed coffee made by my mother. Although I thought she would stay at my brother’s house, she called Zevran to fetch her since my brother was on duty at the police station.
• Nevertheless, the awkward feeling still remained between us. I did my very best to act in front of my mom so that there was nothing wrong between me and Zevran. The happiness in my mother’s face was enough for me, yet guilt slowly stabbed me, wondering why it had to be like this.
