Chapter 34 Thirty Three
- The walls I had built within myself collapsed with the weight of his words, and I could almost hear the sound of it. My throat went dry, my heart stopped beating, and everything around me seemed to come to a standstill.
- My promise. I just stared at him, feeling as though I wanted to crawl up and cry alone. The sadness in his eyes was too much for me to bear. Why was he bringing up the past, especially that promise I made to him in this very church? His throat moved, and his eyes searched for answers from me.
- I closed my eyes tightly, taking deep breaths, feeling the weight of my actions.
