Chapter 15 Fourteen
- The room was illuminated by the light of a bulb, and the window was closed. The scent of white roses filled the air. Sanna’s mother loved to give her daughter these flowers.
- She was petite, standing a few inches taller than my 5'3 height. Her blonde brown hair was let loose, and her appearance was striking. Though not pure Filipino, she inherited the blood of a Swedish from her father. Sanna’s grandfather, who is Swedish, lived in Manila with his wife and some of his grandchildren from his two other children who were Sanna’s mother’s siblings.
- “I’m glad that you’re here now, Hija. How’s your trip? Is everything going well? I'm sorry for asking you to come here suddenly... It’s just that my daughter needs you,” she said with concern in her eyes.
