Chapter 6 Forbidden Desire

  • Over Willowbrook, an exquisite light was cast by the moon as it hung high in the night sky. The woodland at the edge of town was a maze of shadows and murmurs—the sort of spot that held mysteries and called to those with fretful spirits. Luckily, I was one, a young artist whose interest in the supernatural had brought me to this far-off, enigmatic town.
  • I explored the thick underbrush without sweat, my feet moving with a feeling of direction. The old book I had found in Mrs. Clara Whitmore's book shop had uncovered something other than enigmatic images and spells; it had made a way for a world I had just witnessed like in fantasies. What's more, it was inside this world that I tracked down Sebastian Blackwood, a man as perplexing as the actual woodland.
  • Sebastian's house showed up through the trees, a dull outline against the silvered sky. As I drew closer my breath got stronger, My memory was lingering from his gentle yet electric touch.
  • The entryway squeaked open before i could knock, and there he stood. Sebastian's penetrating blue eyes met mine, a glint of shock and help moving inside my brain. He moved to one side, quietly welcoming me in. The cabin had a warm atmosphere, and the scent of burning wood mixed with the cool night air that came through the window.
  • "Evelyn," he welcomed, his voice a low thunder that creeped my out. " You were unexpected tonight.
  • In a barely audible voice, she admitted, "I couldn't stay away." As if our hearts were connected by an invisible thread, I felt a pull toward him.
  • Sebastian's look mellowed, and he connected, his fingers brushing a wanderer lock of hair from my face. " I'm happy you're here," he said, his touch waiting on my cheek.
  • We sat together by the fire, the flares creating moving, shaded areas on the walls. On the table between us was an ancient book with intricate drawings and long-forgotten spells lay open.
  • "We're drawing nearer," I said, in a voice loaded up earnestly. " It can feel it. There's something in this book that can break the curse"
  • Despite his guarded expression, Sebastian gave a nod. But it's risky, Evelyn. The more we dig into these secrets, the more we risk arousing powers outside of our reach."
  • Understanding what he meant, I placed my hand over his. " Saying in a soft voice, "I'm willing to take that risk." für Sie. For us.”
  • His eyes were raided wiith feeling, and briefly, the heaviness of hundreds of years appeared to lift from his shoulders. He stared at me, raising my jaw with two fingers and caught my lips in a kiss that discussed distress and trust. I softened in his kiss and warm hug, the external world was blurring into unimportance.
  • A sudden, chilling draft interrupted our moment. The fire gleamed, and the shadows in the room appeared to develop longer, more obscure. Sebastian pulled away, his eyes snapping to the entryway. I followed his look, my heart beating.
  • "Remain here," he murmured critically, raising to his feet.
  • Before I could respond, he pushed toward the entryway, his steps quick and quiet.
  • As Sebastian stepped outside, I heard the mumbling of voices. So I crawled nearer, my interest overwhelming carefulness. Looking through the break in the entryway, I saw Sebastian talking with a tall, forcing figure. Marcus Thorne, the mysterious and sinister newcomer to the town.
  • My breath hitched. She had heard that Marcus was charming but had ruthless goals. At Sebastian's cab, But what was he doing at Sebastian's cabin?.
  • Sebastian spoke in a barely restrained low growl, "I told you to stay away from her."
  • Marcus laughed, a sound that sent a chill down my spine. "You can't guide her for eternity, Sebastian. She's currently caught in this web. It's inevitable."
  • My heart dashed as I watched Marcus' eyes flick toward the cabin. an icy tendril of fear.
  • Sebastian's clenched hands were held tight and
  • with a stern tone, he said, "You underestimate her strength."
  • Marcus' grin augmented, his eyes glimmering with dull entertainment. " We'll see about that. However, remember, the further she gets, the more hazardous it becomes. For both of you."
  • I couldn't remain still any more, so I pushed the door open, squaring my shoulders, defiantly addressing Marcus's gaze as the icy air bit at my skin.
  • "I can deal with anything this book tosses at me," I uttered,my voice consistent. " I'm not terrified by you."
  • Marcus, evidently intrigued, raised an eyebrow. Bold. That's what I like," he said with a grin. However, bravery alone will not be all. You can't even imagine what the book is hiding.
  • Sebastian moved to my side, his presence serving as an encouraging anchor. " Marcus, get up. This is your last advice"
  • Marcus shifted his head, considering. " Great. But keep in mind, Evelyn, that fate cannot be avoided. Also, your fate is entwined with that book."
  • With that, he transformed and liquefied into the shadows, leaving an abusive quietness afterward. I felt Sebastian's arm around me, pulling me. The glow of his touch grounding,, yet my brain was overwhelmed with Marcus' words.
  • The fire had diminished to embers inside the cabin. Sebastian and I remained in the passage way, the heaviness of our guest settling vigorously around us.
  • "What is it that he needs with the book?" I asked, her voice scarcely a murmur.
  • Sebastian murmured, his look far off. " Power and Control. The book contains information that has the potential to alter the supernatural world's balance. Marcus is determined to take advantage of it.
  • Not only was I shivering from the cold, but we need to stop him."
  • Sebastian gestured, his jaw setting with resolve. " We shall. However, we need to be careful. Marcus isn't the only one we really need to worry about."
  • As we remained there, I felt the book's draw more grounded than at any point in recent memory. The images appeared to murmur to me, promising responses, power, and the way to breaking Sebastian's curse.
  • Somewhere far off, a wolf wailed, the sound reverberating through the timberland like an unpleasant tune. As the main light of the sunrise started to crawl into the great beyond.
  • Strengthening my grip on Sebastian's hand, with eyes loaded up sincerely. " We'll discover a way," I said solidly. " Regardless of what it'll take."
  • My determination was reflected in Sebastian's nod, and his eyes together.”
