Chapter 29 The Battle Begins

• As the light vanished my heartbeat sounded like a drum, warning me that something evil was about to happen.I forced myself to concentrate by taking a deep breath. Instinctively, I went for the dagger by my side; its cool metal felt comforting in my hand. Beside me, I could hear Sebastian's feeble but persistent gasping for air. That was sufficient to quell the alarm for the time being.
