Chapter 28 Descent Into Madness

As I fell, the world whirled around me, and blackness enveloped my head like a mind-numbing blanket. It was unsettling to feel the rush of chilly air against my flesh and the sensation of freefall. My fingers snipped at the empty space, searching for something to cling to, but all I could find was the unending, merciless blackness.
Then the fall came to an abrupt stop. I lost my breath as I struck the ground with great force. My body erupted in pain as I lay there, breathing, attempting to comprehend what had just transpired. The sound of my heart thumping madly and chaotically filled my ears.
"Sebastian?" My voice was tremulous and harsh as I yelled out.
