- As I struggled to regain awareness, the world was a blur, whirling between brightness and darkness. My body was pained and bruised, and my limbs felt heavy. Sebastian's voice calling my name, his terror raw and piercing, was the last thing I remembered. The recollection startled me awake.
- When I opened my eyes, I saw him. Sebastian, who was kneeling next to me, had a worried, pale face. However, something had changed. His eyes, which are typically a deep blue, flickered with an odd light that I had never seen before.
