Chapter 15 Dreams And Nightmares

• I opened my eyes after a fearful dream. The moonlight straining through the veil was the only source of light in the room. I sat up, trying to remember the last part of the dream that had restrained me. The pictures were frightening and vivid and it felt so real.
• I had been strolling through the forest in my dream, the trees muttering my name. My feet had started to move on their own as I followed the sound. The shadows were darker and the air grew cooler. And then I saw a shadowy apparition whose eyes gleamed with a dark light. My feet were firmly planted on the earth despite my attempts to flee. The shadowy figure had drawn nearer, its face hidden from view. Just as it had stretched out to touch me I woke up.
• Attempting to slow my heart beat, I inhaled deeply and casted a quick peek at Sebastian, who was fast asleep next to me. The calm expression on his face stood in sharp contrast to the chaos within me. Because I needed his solace I stretched out and softly caressed his shoulder.
