Chapter 35 Echoes Of Hope
- The shadow woman stood in front of us, her smile oozing with menace, as the air crackled with dark energy. Standing behind her was a massive mass of shadows, its bright red eyes staring at us with a hunger that made me feel very cold. I could feel the blood still trickling from the wound on my palm, where I had offered my sacrifice to the altar, and my heart was thumping loudly in my chest.
- Sebastian's stance remained steady as he tightened his grasp on his sword, but I could see the uncertainty and strain in his eyes. Once more, we were not as strong. But, we cannot give in. Not after all that we'd experienced.
- The woman's sarcastic, icy voice slithered across the atmosphere. “You actually believed you could stop me with a little light?” With a wave of her hand, the thing behind her moved, its shape contorted in an abnormal way. "You've just postponed the inevitable."
