Chapter 58 The Midnight Convenant
- The night's chill encircled us like a warning. The soft moonlight bent the shadows as Sebastian and I trekked through the thick woodland. Every step seemed to be an unsaid covenant with the unknown, a whispered promise of peril. As he held my hand, his wings had disappeared, leaving only the weight of fatigue in his eyes. I experienced the pain of the fall and the lingering fear of almost being captured by the animals. Now, however, something more was present. There's something chilly and eerie approaching.
- The hush ended with Sebastian's voice. "We're near."
- I could see he was hesitant, but he didn't mention where we were going. This was no hastily devised strategy.
