Chapter 17 Into The Unknown

• With each step we took, the Shadow Realm's ever-changing scenery drew closer and closer to the unknown. The way ahead was a maze of twists and turns, shrouded in a thick mist that seemed to reflect back to us our worst fears. I held fast to the old book, its mysterious characters flickering slightly as though they were directing us.
• Sebastian said, "Stay close," his voice a low rumble that just about broke through the stifling hush. His hand took mine firmly, our fingers intertwined showing our solidarity.
• With every second that went by, the temperature dropped to an extremely low level. Shadows danced like ghosts, vanishing and resurfacing before our sight.The ambiance was dense with anxiety, with each leaf rustle and far-off howl setting us on edge.
