Chapter 41 Bonds Of Friendship
- Through the splintered trees, I could hear the wind howling and the distant thunderclap resounding through the cloudy sky. As I pushed onward, the weight of everything tugged at me, slowing me down till my legs burned yet I couldn't stop. Not after all that we'd experienced. Not while the Collectors are still there, waiting and prowling.
- "Are you alright?" Sebastian jolted me out of my reverie with his voice. He was sprinting next to me, breathing heavily but steadily, and I could see the tremendous resolve in his eyes, which motivated me to keep going.
- I lied, scarcely audible above the wind, saying, "I'm OK." I could feel the fatigue setting in faster than I could fight it, and my chest felt constricted. Yet I had to avoid becoming helpless. Not right now.
