• The cars are pulling up outside of our houses, and I am feeling a mixture of emotions right now. Glad that we had finished our travelling. It had been difficult being over there, but I was glad we had done it. I needed to do it - for me, and for Rose. It had been a long day, a long flight, and home was an appreciated sight, as expected. I was certainly glad to be home, yet the vision of Rose being in my home keeps replaying in my mind though, and I can’t shake that. Our argument just before she came and attacked Ruby.
• And then there was Ruby – the need to go and see her. A desperation almost to see her, one that I really did not expect to feel. I knew I would want to see her, but this is a yearning almost, like a need. Like it has been too long since I saw her last. Such a strange feeling, and one I don't fully understand. But then, I am reluctant at the same time. Wanting to give her the time and space she needs. She would know we were coming home – there would be no way she did not know that. Lilah would have told her, and if she hadn’t, then there was no doubt that Indie would not have been able to keep it to herself! So, after much thought, and so much consideration while traveling home, I have convinced myself she knows where I am. If she wants to see me, she will come and find me.
• This is time for the fresh start. Time for a change. I need to do this. I step out of the car, following Manny, who instantly is embraced by Lola, with Xavier in her arms. Tears in her eyes. We have only been gone a matter of days, but you can see how much she has missed her mate. Dario, their eldest, throws himself around his Papi’s legs, clearly just as glad to see him. I can't help but smile.
