Chapter 273 Esme

• Today has been so amazing so far, being able to finally collect my graduation certificate, and have my family there to see me do it too. Seeing me achieve my dream was such an awesome feeling. And the smile on Gabe’s face too, was perfect. When I started this course I had never imagined I would be finishing it with a mate there supporting me, cheering me on and making me so incredibly happy! Let alone with a surprise addition to our family inside of my belly. And this one was most definitely a surprise!
• A surprise we did not plan, I know that. Kids had not been on our agenda for a few years yet. Most couples when they meet their mate are in a rush to have pups. Not us. Gabe was so not keen on kids and neither was I, and then I wanted to make sure I had completed my course. But I have to admit, meeting him changed something in me, I think. I seemed to soften a little to kids then. I think he did too. Though if you listen to his family, he has always been wonderful with kids, more the fun Uncle type though, and was happy to hand them back when they got grumpy.
• But I was shocked at myself this morning when I got around to doing the test I had bought yesterday, just how amazingly calm I was when it came back positive. I thought I would be in so much of a panic and freaking out. But the only thing I was worried about was Gabe’s reaction, but his face had been so happy and so sweet. We both had the same response. This was our baby. Something we had made together. And we will love it so bloody much!
