• I sat on my bed, watching my friends. All congratulating Gabe. So much happiness and excitement in the room. I could see the happiness of Gabriel talking about the fact his mate was expecting a baby, something I had never imagined of my friend in all honesty. He had always sworn he would not have kids of his own. That he would forever be the fun Uncle - a role he was most definitely suited to. He was definitely a fun Uncle to the kids already in our friendship group - the kids loved him. Yet, here we are, he has a little one on the way and the happiness is clear to see on his face. There is no denying that. Maybe it goes to show that meeting your fated mate, the right one for you, does change how you feel about things. Because looking at Gabe right now there was no denying he was excited about becoming a Papi. He would no doubt make a terrific father, a crazy one too, I have a feeling, but their child would never be lacking in love or support. Of that I was certain. He and Esme would make wonderful parents and their pup would be blessed to have them.
• Wow, how times are changing, yet again! Another of my friends having a pup, another having found his mate. I am happy for them both, always will be when my friends progress in their lives. To see them happy makes me happy. But at the same time, I can't lie, it is beginning to be an awful lonely place here on my own. Or is that a selfish way to think? The last one of us that is single. It probably wouldn't be long until Luis and his new mate were having pups now either, so then I'd be the only one with no children either. Though I have to admit, being with Rose was not right for me, that I know now. Wish I had seen that straight away, saved so much pain and suffering for myself and many others too...
• Being with her would never have worked, and bringing children into that would have been cruel. Plus, knowing what I do, it appeared she did not want pups anyway, having aborted two pregnancies in the past year alone. Yes, she was definitely not meant for me. Perhaps the Moon Goddess made a mistake, or it was part of a bigger plan. I can’t help but wonder if the things we went through were more to bring Luis and his mate together. And seeing their happiness at meeting one another makes it almost worthwhile. I can't lie though, I wish it had not caused as much pain as it did.
