• I finally let Jaxx out through the forest at the top of the packland, up near the borders where I know I won’t be disturbed. Needing to feel the pain of pushing myself to my limit running up there, loving the sensation of the breeze through Jaxx’s fur as he paces through the trees at speed. I could still sense he was on edge, but allowing him out to run helped. He could let some of the unused energy up speeding around the forest, and in hunting small prey within the forest too. The fact he was not doing well with this showed how distracted his mind must be, as normally he was a refined hunter. Meeting Rose had clearly affected him. Clearly playing on his mind. Though it was still playing on my mind, so it is understandable.
• This was not how we had thought meeting our mate would be. This is not how it is supposed to be. Though I know you can't plan for everything to be perfect, this was beyond strange and it has really set me on edge. Something told me it didn't feel right, but I was trying my hardest to shake that off. This is the woman the moon goddess had chosen for me. She is our goddess, the one who created our kind, we are meant to worship her, we are meant to respect her choices. She had to have chosen Rose for me for a reason.
• Speaking to Ruby had helped, I have to say. She is a star, not judgemental in the slightest and willing to listen to what I have to say. Such a shame my friends were not the same. I haven’t even told my parents yet. Fuck. I don’t even want to know what their opinions are going to be on this. They will no doubt be of the same high-rated opinion as Knox and think she should be doing as she is told and move here immediately. That is the usual protocol when you meet your mate, so that would be the opinion everyone automatically goes to when they hear of our situation. But I don't know how often mates meet from so far apart.
