Chapter 4
- In just a few minutes in Elliot's presence, Jones felt more at ease, despite the initial tension, which he innocently believed was due to not knowing each other well.
- He had no idea of his boss's underlying intentions, and this was a good sign for Elliot, who was determined to suppress these feelings for as long as he could, regardless of torturing himself by keeping the handsome young man around.
- "It will be an honor, Mr. Park. Thank you very much!" Jonathan thanked Elliot and discreetly bid farewell before being dismissed by Elliot.
- Returning to his desk with a smile bigger than his face could contain, he felt extremely confused because what he felt in the brief moment with his boss was still not clear enough in his mind. After all, he couldn't feel that way.
- He was his boss, and how immoral would it be to have such intense feelings for a man in a superior position? Jonathan reflected quickly before focusing on his work.
- His colleague, Eric, helped him familiarize himself with the company's affairs. Although a bit too playful, Jonathan was grateful for Eric's patience in explaining the bureaucratic processes, which fortunately were not as many as he might have imagined.
- Jonathan put on his headphones, extremely curious to get to know a bit about the artist they would be visiting later. Even though he knew that all the musicians who passed through the company were extremely talented, he didn't expect the voice that echoed in his ears to be so unique.
- The intensity of the singer's timbre was almost intoxicating, and it deserved his complete attention. The deep and slightly hoarse voice was a treat to his ears, and within a few seconds of a single song, Jonathan was enchanted as well as eager to meet the mysterious musician.
- Distracted, he took some time to notice the repetitive touches of his new colleague on his shoulder. He quickly removed the headphones, returning his attention to the real world.
- "I know you're the new favorite of the boss, but you have to give me what I asked for a few minutes ago," Eric said playfully, although serious in his words.
- "Sorry, Eric. I got distracted with this mixtape." Jones turned his notebook screen to the blond guy, who squinted slightly, trying to read the tiny letters on the screen.
- Before Eric could say a single word about it, Jonathan heard a familiar voice in the vicinity. He quickly turned, still seated in his chair, and his eyes almost couldn't believe what they saw.
- His childhood friend, Hugo, was talking to Aila, Elliot Park's secretary. He looked completely different, but it would be impossible for Jonathan not to recognize him. His hair was now cherry red, and his style seemed completely different from what he knew from their school days.
- Jonathan didn't think twice before getting up and going to greet him. Hugo was as surprised as Jones, a bit incredulous that they worked in the same place. After years of not seeing each other, their lives were brought together again, entirely by chance.
- Now, Hugo was a professional dancer and an intern at P.E., And Jonathan felt that it was fate, as they were very close in adolescence. They had been separated when Hugo's parents returned to London, their homeland.
- Together again by chance, it would be hard to keep them apart.
- Distracted by his friend, Jonathan took a while to realize that he had already passed the time Elliot had informed him through the secretary to go together to visit the artist they would be producing. Completely nervous, he quickly bid farewell to Hugo, running desperately to the reception area and forgetting even to pick up his belongings before leaving.
- As soon as the elevator opened on the first floor, Jonathan spotted Elliot standing in front of a black car. He impatiently glanced at the watch on his wrist, and at that moment, Jonathan believed he had messed everything up.
- The blond man saw Jonathan approaching and got into the car, followed by the younger man, who quickly caught up with him.
- "Mr. Park, I'm sorry... I got distracted by the tasks and lost track of time. I apologize." Jonathan kept his head down, embarrassed.
- Elliot didn't respond; he just nodded affirmatively while looking at his phone with a dissatisfied expression on his face, maintaining an awkward silence throughout the journey.
- Jonathan wondered sadly if a slight delay would be enough to upset him and create a bad impression on his boss. The intern fixed his gaze on the car's window, which was wet from the rain falling on the streets.
- Looking at the tall buildings in the city center, he couldn't help feeling fearful, afraid of having ruined his chance after such a minor slip-up. The car slowed down as it approached a beautiful house, further away from the center, with enormous walls covered in plants and a large gate with carvings on the wood.
- Although curious, Jonathan refrained from asking questions. As soon as he stepped out of the car, he took a deep breath, trying to smell the rain that bathed the place. His expression was pure, like a child enchanted by the small drops falling from the sky. Elliot watched him for a brief moment, turning his gaze away before Jonathan could notice.
- The moment that they were guided inside the house, Jonathan noticed a surprisingly well-equipped recording studio on the premises.
- He quickly recognized the deep voice he had heard earlier on the tracks that Eric had presented. He was amazed by the incredible voice, which had an even greater impact in person. But it wasn't hard to notice the beauty of the mysterious young man.
- Jonathan discreetly observed his black wavy hair that framed his radiant and slightly tanned skin, giving way to a rectangular smile illuminating his face. The man, who hadn't noticed Elliot and Jonathan's presence before, smiled and walked toward them.
- He could barely imagine that this man would change his life.
