Chapter 22

• Jonathan said goodbye to Elliot and headed to the building alone. Luckily, the lobby was empty, and no one saw them arrive. The security guard, as always, was more engrossed in his phone than in what was happening around him. Jonathan passed by the man in silence, and he didn't even notice him entering the elevator, which was also empty.
• He was so absorbed in his own thoughts that for a few moments, he forgot to press the button that would take him to the 10th floor. The doors opened, and he walked towards his desk, eager to see his friend Eric.
• As soon as he spotted the blond, who was focused on some papers that Jonathan couldn't identify, he took advantage of his distraction and hugged him from behind. Eric turned to Jonathan, surprised, noticing the big smile on his face. Happiness was evident in his joyful and engaging expression.
