Chapter 16

  • Since childhood, we are conditioned to create a plan. We are born, we grow up, and as we become adults, we need to meet a series of expectations imposed upon us. Expectations that, once fueled by the surrounding adults, start to be generated by ourselves, causing our true goals—the ones we identify with on our own will—to be pushed aside. Left or forgotten in some dark corner of our minds, often treated as a hobby or something not deserving as much attention as real goals.
  • These beliefs become significant within us. They take root. And if by any chance you wish to let go of them one day, it's a painful and slow process. Cathartic, however.
  • For a long time, Jonathan felt the need to meet such expectations, as his love for music could never be considered a serious profession. He was the boy who liked playing around with music on the computer. That, and only that.
