Chapter 84

• The silver moonlight creeps through the large windows, making it impossible to sleep. Anna has been restless all night, the urge to run under the full moon becoming impossible to ignore. I groan, reminding her that Liam won’t let that happen. It’s for our safety, I remind her even though the reality irks me too. I sit up on the mattress and look around; realizing that he didn’t bother to come to bed. I suppose I should be happy he respected my wishes but instead my stomach churns when the thought that he left me here alone crosses my mind. A shiver runs down my spine and before I realize what’s happening, my feet quickly hit against the cold hardwood floor and when I open the bedroom door, it’s as if a blast of Liam’s scent sends every sense in my body into overdrive.
• I yearn to move towards him and slip into his bulky arms, just to feel his chest rise and fall against my body. Given the tantrum I threw earlier, I push through the urge and let my pride win. It doesn’t stop me from letting my eyes drink him in though, even with his hair disheveled; he’s remarkably handsome. Judging how he’s managed to cram his large figure across the tiny couch, I know it’s far from comfortable and feel a pang of guilt play in my chest.
