• Although I have my own speculations about Lexi, I’m not one to follow silly legends that these men have obsessively spent decades searching for. I’m sure his rambling is just a ploy to slip into her pants once I look the other way. It wouldn’t be the first time Landon has enjoyed my sloppy seconds. Since we were kids, he’s always felt the need to remind me that he can have anyone he wishes. It’s probably why he’s already on his fourth chosen mate. Two mysteriously died from an alleged poisoning, one apparently took her own life and the fourth… well, we’ll see what he comes up with when he gets bored of her too. It’s probably already happened considering she isn’t here. He’s charming; I’ll give him that but I’ll rip his throat out in one clean swipe if he even tries to get Lexi alone with him.
• Lexi’s body tenses up and I quickly realize she’s had enough pestering for one night. Bringing her here was supposed to ease her into this life with me, not scare the living daylights out of her that Axton could find her in my pack. “It’s been nice and I hope you find your time here hospitable but there’s a few others I’d like to speak to prior to the meeting.
