• His gaze pierces through me as if he’s dumbfounded and shuttered with disbelief. I knew it would be a tough pill to swallow in the end; bracing myself for this very moment when my most tightly guarded secret would finally surface. Yet the feelings brewing inside of him are the least of my concerns. They’re far from it.
• I’m seething with a fury that is threatening to consume me entirely. My vision is tunnel focused and my wolf is out for blood. He bit me. He fucking bit me, a fact that I’m struggling to accept. I’m fuming and dangerously close and on the verge of exploding. I’m livid that he attacked me after all of those hollow promises of how he claimed I was safe. Safe in this pack, safe with these people, safe with him. I was so safe that he sunk his teeth into my skin and chomped on my leg to prove it.
