• The vicious look in his Alpha Liam’s eyes replays in my mind, tormenting me as I struggle to slip into a slumber. He nearly murdered that man in cold blood for reasons I can’t understand. Admittedly, he told me he would deal with the issue of the humans but I never thought it would result in taking a man’s life. The man begged for his life, pleading to be spared for his mate and their pups. The whole altercation triggering something deep inside of my memory, something I don’t want to remember.
• The man seemed oddly familiar but I chalked it up as another Alpha that I must have seen at one of the functions hosted by my old pack. I don’t think he recognized me either, not bothering to serve a second glance at the reception and for that, I thank my lucky stars.
