• A frighteningly familiar and demanding voice echoes against the walls. The elder’s mouth falls open and his eyes go wide as Liam lets out a spine chilling growl. Gasps play throughout the room and I move my gaze to the entrance of the grand hall, feeling my knees buckle from underneath me. Tender arms catch me before I can hit the ground but it’s not Liam’s soothing scent. I look up in confusion and see the elder, hoisting me up as Beta Jax and Delta Marcus race towards me with concern painted across their faces.
• Liam’s heart bangs loudly in his chest and his breaths are short and shallow, a picture that I’ve never seen before. My focus sharpens when I see his growing unease. He’s just as terrified as I am; afraid that somehow he’ll drag me back to where I came from.
