Chapter 23

• Alpha Liam’s eyes flicker with slivers of silver as his gaze sears through me. I feel violated in the rawest of ways, like he can see right my tough exterior that we both know is only being fuelled by liquid courage. I can feel his warm panted breaths dance along my lips, making it overwhelmingly difficult to stop the small whimper that escapes my chest. My face goes flush as embarrassment continues to pile through me. When he pushes his body closer into mine, trapping me between his rock hard muscles and the wall, I can’t stop my eyes from shutting tightly. I’m strangely aware that he could rip my throat out at this very moment yet I have no trace of fear. Instead, I’m fighting a feeling of longing brewing inside to willingly surrender myself to his every wish.
• His fingertips glide along my wrists and I feel tiny sparks erupting under my skin. I’ve never felt such intensity from a mere touch but it’s quickly becoming too much to handle, too much to resist. He pushes off the wall abruptly and my eyes flutter open, I feel Anna push forward and whine inside as I watch him turn on his heels and enter into a dimly lit room. I struggle to compose my thoughts but can’t stop my body from chasing after the man that just had me pinned roughly against the wall. It registers in my brain that I’m staring into a window of opportunity to sprint down the staircase and make a run as far out of Crescent Moon as I can get but I can’t stop my own curiosity from clouding my better judgment.
