• My heart aches when I feel my body settle into the mattress and out of Alpha Liam’s thick, warm arms. Even though his body hovers over mine, the distance between us somehow still feels too far and wide. Panic slices through my chest, he’s going to leave me here, isn’t he? Swallowing hard, I glare up at his crystal baby blues noticing how they twinkle against the soft moonlight creeping from the windows. I know the danger that circles us both with Alpha Axton on the prowl so I quickly settle Anna and bite down on my bottom lip while thoughts of my pack race through my mind.
• “Are you going to take me home?” I ask. A stupid question really, especially knowing what’s at stake. I know I shouldn’t be complaining either, I’m in the most luxurious penthouse in the city with every want I could possibly desire at my fingertips. Memories flash behind my eyes, ones that I’ve fought to push down to a deep and dark place. I could still be locked up in a cage in Alpha Axton’s pack. I know I should be counting my blessings yet my own fury binds me.
