• A stinging pain pulsed through my stomach, I had gone days since my last meal. I felt Anna wince quietly, both of us desperate for a bowl of stale bread drenched in milk. A staple for omegas in the Shadow Pack, one that I had grown accustomed to over the years. Pizza, I wondered now hearing my stomach growl angrily. My mind reeled back to my life before Luna Fraya’s death. My heart ached as memories quietly flooded my mind to all the birthdays I had spent with her. I had looked forward to turning a year older because each one would always end with a special dinner with her which always consisted of pizza.
• I was sure that Beta Jax had noticed the stunned look now encompassing my face. He was undoubtedly taking in my apprehension. He looked at me nervously like a child who had just done something wrong. “Uh… or we could have something else? Sorry Lexi, I just assumed everyone liked pizza,” he asked, his body going tense and rigid.
