Chapter 195 Protection
- "No, even if I tell you the truth, you would still call the supposed guards and seek confirmation of my answer," I argued. He glared at me and walked over to the door when someone knocked on it. He opened the door and took the tray of food that was brought for me, then he shut the door. He walked over to the table and placed the tray on it, then he sat down. He tapped on the space beside him and gestured for me to sit down beside him. I sighed and got up since I was so hungry. The smell of chicken and panini wafted in the air and I couldn't resist. My stomach grumbled and sang loudly in my ears as I walked over to him. I sat down at his side just as he wanted and poured myself a glass of juice. I drank all of it, suddenly realizing that I was thirsty. Jordan poured a glass of water for me before I could and handed it to me.
- "You look pale and patchy," he noted and I shrugged.
- "I couldn't sleep all night and I haven't eaten all morning. Probably that," I started digging into my food. Jordan said nothing and simply watched me eat. I ignored him, feeling too hungry to speak with him and too tired to even think about what was going on with him. Even my eyes grew heavier as I ate, and I had to eat a lot faster so I could go to sleep.
