Chapter 187 Changes Ii
- When I came out of the bathroom, Jordan was no longer in the bedroom, and it made me feel worse. I quickly changed into a simple gown and flats and went downstairs. Of course, he was downstairs, and they were all sitting at the table, waiting for me. I sighed and put on a smile as I went down. Jordan got up from where he was sitting and pulled out a chair for me. It lifted my spirits, and I smiled at him, but he looked away the moment our eyes met, and my heart fell again.
- He sat back down, and chatter rose around us. My entire family and friends were present, and it was one of those rare moments in life that we should always cherish. It made me think of Liam and how we never actually had a decent meal with him, and suddenly he was gone. I turned to Jordan, who had a stoic expression on his face, no different from how he always looked. Whenever something funny was said, he would smile with his eyes, but he didn’t change his facial expression. I sighed and looked away, feeling guilty that he was still in the dark about what had happened all those months he was away.
- I said almost nothing and ate as if I wasn't bothered. I was happy, after all. My husband was alive. Everyone had something to say, except me, Ava, who was still the child amongst us, and Jordan, who had not said a word all this while. Yet, it was such a beautiful moment that I would cherish. Aiden even took pictures, he couldn’t help it. Jordan didn’t like the idea and glared at him, but he did what he wanted anyway.
