Chapter 126 Lover's Game

• I gave Jordan a nod and turned back to the wine glass I still held in my hand. I was still very angry over what had happened earlier. I could not help myself, nor could I stop myself from feeling the rage that was swelling inside of me. I looked around to find men and women all dressed in amazing attire and high shoulders moving around like it was where they were meant to be. I didn’t feel like it was where I was meant to be anymore, and knowing that the words of Skylar affected me to such an extent made me feel even angrier at myself.
• “Genesis…” Jordan’s warm hand clasped mine, then he gently took the glass away from me. I still refused to look at him because I was unwilling to. Was he embarrassed of me? Did he find some kind of truth in what Skylar said? Was that why he didn’t bother to defend me? I kept asking myself, and the thought of it simply made the anger in my heart worsen.
• “Are you not going to look at me?” he asked and placed his hand on my chin. His voice had a gentle calmness and softness to it. It held the tone of endearment and it pulled me. Slowly, I turned my gaze to him and found his deep brown eyes staring at me with so much intensity.
