Chapter 54

• Isabelle wondered if he was waiting for her in front of her house. The confrontation that she was avoiding would come sooner rather than later. Isabelle suddenly did not want to go into her house anymore. She sat in the car for quite a while, thinking of what she would say when she came out. Isabelle half expected that he would come out of his car and knock on her window. After a while, she realized that he wouldn’t and stepped outside of her vehicle. Isabelle went to check Lucifer’s car and was surprised to see it empty. Where had he gone? And without a car even.
• Isabelle figured that she would call him when she got inside her house, and so she walked into her apartment and switched on the light. Isabelle yelped as she was given the fright of her life, it was Lucifer seated on her couch, clearly waiting for her.
• “God you scared me. What are you doing in here? How did you get in? I don’t recall ever giving you a key. Isn’t this trespassing?” Isabelle asked and Lucifer kept quiet.
