Chapter 38

• Isabelle picked her phone and she started calling Annabeth, for some weird reasons, she was craving cupcakes and she needed someone to get them for her. Annabeth was probably home, holed up in front of her computer completing one of her deadlines. Isabelle smiled, she couldn’t remember the last time she had to work her ass off. Soft life has always been one for her and she enjoyed it too much. A baby girl life indeed.
• Annabeth picked up on the third ring and her groggy voice made Isabelle knew she was sleeping already. Her eyes darted to the wall clock and it was just past ten pm, how come Annabeth was sleeping that early. She doesn’t even sleep early on normal days and Isabelle smiled, maybe her friend was exhausted. Anyone would be considering how much stress they’ve been through in the last few days, it was that stressful for both of them. Annabeth asking her what she wanted brought her attention back to her sick midnight cravings.
• “Hey baby, I didn’t know you would be sleeping. I thought you’d be awake or something, maybe I should call you tomorrow. I’m sorry for disturbing you” Isabelle relief and she heard the way Annabeth moved around in her room. Maybe she was getting out of bed and going to her work desk.
