Chapter 65 - Alpha Dave

• After eating in the kitchen with Jack and the others we all went our separate ways, I was still reeling from the bomb dropped on Dave at the end of the meeting, Alpha! Dave was going to be Alpha, and I was going to the pack that had caused my best friend so much pain? I really am not sure how I feel about all of this, but it all needs to happen quickly so I guess I will work out how I really feel once everything is settled. First order of business is that dave wants to go see Alpha Sven, talk with him, give him a chance to change his mind, poor Dave is doubting whether he is the right choice. Personally I think he is the best option, Dave is an amazing Beta and he will be an even better Alpha. Don't get me wrong, he is my twin and has done his share of driving me crazy over the years, but I love him more than anything. We have never been apart, anywhere he goes, I have always followed, so naturally, if he goes to Twin Lakes, so do I.
• We discovered pretty quickly that we didn't need to practise to keep our mindlinks private, maybe it is a twin thing, we are closer than others and have always been able to read each other easily, so private mindlink comes quite naturally to us. However, blocking the link between us is still a struggle at times, right now seems to be one of those times. I can hear all the doubts and fears Dave is currently feeling. He is terrified, terrified he won't be able to manage a pack, terrified the pack will reject him, terrified that by accepting the position he will lose his friends, but beneath all that noise there is something else, something that proves to me how very great he will be as an Alpha. Even through his panic he is making plans, he is already thinking as a leader, deciding what needs to be done to build up the pack again.
