Chapter 15 - Preparation
- It has been a week since I read the diary entry written 40 years ago by Luna Jennifer. A week of being holed up in the room Luna Lily insisted I call my own, 2 weeks since my birthday, where all I have done is sleep, eat, heal, and meet with Luna and Alpha and spend time with Thomas. Each morning at around 9am, I am set upon with harsh cramps that take my breath away and for the last 2 days they usually return around midnight. They last for around 15 minutes each time, then pass with no lingering effect. I haven't said anything to Thomas as I don't want to worry him. He is always at training for the morning cramps and the nighttime ones started after he began leaving my room at night. If they persist, I will speak with Luna Lily. Maybe, as a woman, she will know what causes them. I haven't seen anyone else since that day in Alpha's office. Not a soul. And it has been heavenly, up until about 2 days ago, when the boredom and monotony kicked in. I have become restless, and also curious. Who is doing the work I was doing before? I know meals are being prepared as Thomas brings me plates of food 4 times a day and small nibbles another 3 times, plus he has been my sole form of entertainment and I can now safely say he is the brother I never had. His strong, solid presence has been a balm to me through these trying days and I don't know what I would do without him now. He has made himself indispensable to me.
- He stopped sleeping over 5 days ago, he has returned to his routine of training and guarding me, but he has lifted me in when I was down, encouraged me when I would have given up. I have now gained some of the lost weight back, my ribs are no longer visible and my skin is once again clear and fresh looking.
- 2 days ago, sensing my boredom, he brought me an arm full of books from the pack library. Every single one of them was a reference book related to our werewolf history and I have found a few other cases of rejection documented within their pages.
