Chapter 41 - Second Chances

• My heart is pounding, my skin feels tight, after pulling in that breath I can't seem to get another one. The smell of fresh baked cookies and cinnamon fills me to the brim. MATE, my second chance mate is in that room. Fear and wonder battle each other to overpower me. Fear wins out as a giant of a man appears before me, all huge muscles and dark looks.
• Hair black as midnight falls across his forehead and thick black eyebrows cast a shadow over his eyes. But even with the shadow there is no mistaking their color, cerulean blue, the color so bright they seem to glow. He has a 5 o'clock shadow on his jaw, his nose is straight and his lips are bowed perfectly. He towers over my small frame and his growls vibrate through me and settle as a throbbing in my core. This sensation is so new to me I don't recognise it immediately and by the time I come back to the present I am seated beside him and he is handing me a drink. He doesn't release my hand so I take it one handed and take a small swig to wet my tongue and hand it back since he has the lid. Seeing him taking long pulls from the bottle after turning it a little I blush realizing what he has done. He smirks at me and then in true Daisy fashion, she exclaims excitedly, and Jason begins explaining to Alpha Jack, my mate, I smile to myself, yes, being the Alpha's mate makes me a Luna, that does explain the connection Jason and I share. A few growls slip past Aloha Jack's lips causing more vibrations of pleasure to settle in my core while Jason speaks and I am distracted by the sensations the mate bond is causing me. I squirm in my seat a little trying to ease the tension between my legs when Alpha Jack squeezes my hand lightly and I instinctively squeeze his in return, earning a smile from him.
