• Emma collapsed into her mate's arms, and the air left her lungs in a ragged sigh. Her vision was foggy, the pain excruciating, but she had managed to arrive in time to protect Asher. Her blood began to stain the earth and the metallic smell filled the area. Asher roared with a mixture of rage and fear. His brother quickly returned to his human form, his eyes wide with horror as he looked down at his blood-stained hands.
• "Isobel!" Asher shouted. "Someone find the healer and have Ethan caught!"
