Chapter 37
- Emma didn't know what evil spirit possessed her the moment she saw Asher. It must have been some dark entity that had stolen her dignity, because she couldn't find any other explanation. She had to hold on to that idea, because if she didn't, she would have to slap herself for not having control over her own body. The moment she saw him, all she could do was gasp his name as if she was out of breath and run towards him. Without thinking, she threw herself onto his body and wrapped her arms around his neck.
- After the way he had thrown her out of her room, she could only expect him to toss her around like a rag doll, but Asher reacted quickly and wrapped her in his arms. His skin felt warm, without a trace of the coldness she'd sensed in her dream, and the glow of those golden eyes that looked at her as if they hadn't seen her in years was bursting with life, not like in her nightmares.
- Before she could come to her senses and pull away, at least to show some anger and make him believe that he couldn't hurt her without consequences, her legs were already around his waist and he held her like a koala. And that koala seemed to be starving, and he was her eucalyptus.
