Chapter 39

  • Emma spent the rest of the night tossing and turning in bed, unable to get Asher's words and actions out of her head. Could it be true that what she felt was the result of Endora's curse? She hadn't even considered it, not knowing when or how it had happened, but she was in love with him. But what did she know about love? Maybe it was all an illusion.
  • "It's neither an illusion nor a product of my curse. "Don't be so surprised, you should be used to me appearing out of nowhere by now."
  • Emma muttered a complaint under her breath and got out of bed; her stomach growled as if she hadn't eaten in ages and she had no intention of lying in bed and moping. The day had just begun and she needed to find her brother and make sure he was okay. She would deal with her problems with Asher later; it was useless to insist.
