• At their suburban Paris home, Mrs Tania looked at her husband quizzically. "Bella says she and her friend Marta need to study hard so she's staying over at the city apartment because she's exhausted. She invited us to visit but I said tomorrow, is that alright?"
• "Of course. That girl is pushing herself too hard and will make herself ill," Mr Sardino signed back worriedly.
• In the month since Bella had arrived, her grandmother had grown very concerned at how tired she always seemed, sleeping all the time and barely eating. Hence her grandfather assigning a driver so she could rest during commutes, terrified she'd fall asleep at the wheel.
