Chapter 85
- Ethan..." Nathalie began to protest, understanding the sweetness of his gesture but recognizing the risks involved. "As thoughtful as that is, it's also incredibly risky if Elise were to see it."
- "She already has," Ethan interjected before she could continue. "The day after Rosie and I hung the photo, Elise stopped by to pick up a few things. Rosie showed her this picture along with the other two we placed, featuring Rosie at school." He gestured to a black and a gold frame, pictures that captured Rosie with the Tomas brothers and another of her embracing Grace. "You didn't think I'd be careless enough to let Elise discover this on her own, did you? I didn't just show Rosie pictures of you—I showed her about fifty photos taken at school and let her choose three. I even had to dissuade her from picking three with you in them, because she loved those the most. That little girl is almost as crazy about you as I am."
- Nathalie's heart fluttered at the way Ethan spoke of her with so much affection in his voice. Despite her lingering concerns about having her image on his wall, knowing he had actively made this decision reassured her that he wasn't just consumed by memories of Elise when he spent his nights at home.
