Chapter 15
- "Stop it, Daniel," Nathalie insisted, trying to sound firm. "I'm fine. Nothing happened to me. I'm done discussing this with you. Don't call me again." She hung up, her heart pounding. What just happened? She felt uneasy now that Daniel had an inkling of her interests. It felt more personal than anything she'd shared by being intimate with him. She could only hope he wouldn't tell everyone he knew. Even if her preferences weren't strange, it wasn't something she wanted broadcast.
- Part of Nathalie considered reaching out to Ethan, since he was the only one privy to this, yet they'd agreed to end things. Besides, Ethan was spending the week with his daughter. He wouldn't appreciate a girl he'd slept with randomly calling to talk about sex while he was with his kid. She felt messed up.
- Although she longed to go back to sleep, Nathalie knew it was futile. Instead, she got up, her heart racing and her head aching. She spent the day preparing lessons for the following week, crafting assignments, browsing YouTube for engaging historical clips to inspire the kids for their presentations, and scheduling her first round of parent-teacher conferences. The other teachers weren't starting theirs until the next month, but being new, she wanted to familiarize herself with the parents and gather all the information she needed about the students. She definitely planned to start with the parents of the Tomas brothers.
