Chapter 76 The End Of A Contract
- I left my phone on the table, finished my coffee, walked to the kitchen to leave the cup in the sink, then went to my bedroom. As I entered, I opened the closet to grab a dress, put it on, did my hair and makeup, and then headed to the living room to grab my purse and phone. I heard a car horn outside the house and knew Liam had just arrived. When I left my house, I saw Liam looking at me with a smile. I walked over to him and his car, gave him a kiss on the cheek, and we both got into the car. Liam parked next to a café near the law firm, and we both got out of the car. When Liam opened the door to the café, almost everyone inside turned to look at us. We sat at a table in the back of the café. When the waiter approached our table, Liam ordered two cold beers. We talked about almost everything, never mentioning Mark. Between sips, we laughed at trivial things. I noticed Liam getting closer to me, until he touched my chin with his fingers and brushed his lips against mine, leaving me a bit surprised. I didn't say anything about his action, and he apologized. Once we finished our beers, I told Liam I wanted to leave to stop by the law firm to say hi to Alice. After Liam paid for the beers, we got up and headed to the café's entrance. He opened the door for me to go out first. He left the car where it was parked, and we crossed the road to the building where the law firm was located. We took the elevator to the floor where Alice's office was. As we entered, we greeted Alice's assistant, who was sitting at her desk. Liam and I approached the door of my friend's office. Liam knocked, and she gave us permission to enter. Alice stood up as soon as she saw me, and we greeted each other with kisses. The three of us sat down in the chairs in the office.
- "Hello, darling, how are you feeling? Are you ready to work?" Alice asked, holding my hands.
- "Not yet, hopefully soon. Everything's fine, and I can't wait to come back to work at the firm with you all," I replied.
