Chapter 13 Already In His Bedroom

  • When I reached where my future husband was, he was still looking at me with desire but his face was very serious.
  • " Are you ready to leave? " he asked me.
  • " Are we going to pick up Cintia from the nursery? " I asked him.
  • " No, my brother will take her to the courthouse " he said without looking at me.
  • We left the house and saw that the driver already had the car door open waiting for us to get in. I sat down first, as far away as possible from where Mark was going to sit. When we arrived at the courthouse door, the driver opened the door for us and Harris got out, offering me his hand to help me out. I saw my little one running towards us with a beautiful bouquet of flowers in her little hands. When Celia reached where her father and I were, she hugged Harris's leg and smiled at me.
  • " Tofia, you look very pretty " my little one said, giving me the beautiful bouquet she was holding.
  • I bent down a bit, picking her up in my arms excitedly, while my little one wrapped her short arms around my neck and gave me a big kiss on my cheek.
  • " You look very pretty too, you look beautiful in that dress, you look like a real little princess " I said, giving her two kisses on her soft cheeks.
  • " Let's go inside, the judge must be waiting for us " Mark said very seriously.
  • " Brother, aren't you going to introduce me to your future wife? " I heard a slightly younger man than Mr. Harris speak, but very similar to my future husband as they both had black hair and the same eye color.
  • " Sofia, let me introduce you to my little brother Aaron, well since you already know each other, can we go in? " Mark Harris asked again.
  • " Brother, instead of your wedding, you look like you're going to a funeral, please smile " Aaron said, getting no response from his brother.
  • Cintia took my hand as we entered that building, we went up to the second floor in the elevator, but when we got out, I stood still, watching as a young woman, very well painted and with a sculptural body, approached my future husband, wrapping her arms around his neck and giving him a loud kiss on his lips, Harris pushing her away from him in a rough manner.
  • " Hello, my name is Nancy, I want to congratulate you, Mrs. Harris, your future husband and I have known each other for several years, as I am his assistant " the woman said, greeting us both with her hand.
  • " Stop talking now, Nancy, let's go Sofia, the judge is waiting for us and we can't keep him waiting any longer, you know I like to be punctual " Mark said " Nancy, you and I will talk tomorrow in the office about what happened just now " Mark said to his assistant.
  • When we entered the room, Mark smiled at his daughter, who looked beautiful in her ruffled pink dress, in the arms of her uncle Aaron. As we stood in front of the judge, Mark took my hand, intertwining our fingers as if to give me courage and assure me that I would never regret marrying him. After the ceremony ended, we exchanged rings, and Mark wrapped his arms around my waist. What started as a gentle kiss turned into him pressing his lips against mine, his tongue invading my mouth, causing me to abruptly pull away in search of air. I saw a sardonic smile on his lips, as if warning me of what awaited me that night. Harris' lawyers, who acted as witnesses, and Mark's brother congratulated us before the attendees left the room shortly after. As we walked out onto the street, I saw my nanny a few meters away, preventing my new husband from noticing that I had distanced myself from the crowd. I approached her, and we embraced, tears streaming down her rosy cheeks.
  • "Sofia, let's go," Mark said, taking my arm and pulling me away from my daughter.
  • On the way back home, in the back seat of the car, sat my husband and I. Mark's expression was serious, his brow furrowed. He seemed lost in thought, which made me wonder if he was tired, angry at his assistant for daring to kiss him in front of his future wife and daughter, or upset because I greeted the woman who raised me and loved me like a mother. I gazed out the window, avoiding looking at my husband, fearing what awaited me in Mark's bedroom.
  • "Sofia, didn't I tell you I didn't want to see anyone from your family at our wedding? You've breached the contract," he said in a hoarse, serious voice, surprising me with his question.
  • "They must have found out from the press, and it was only my nanny," I replied.
  • The chauffeur opened the car door for us when we arrived home, congratulating us as we stepped out of the vehicle. I forced a smile to thank him. As we entered the house, my husband placed his hand on my lower back, leading me to his bedroom. We entered, and I immediately lay down on the bed, closing my eyes, waiting for Mark to take what was already his. I waited in silence, like prey waiting for the predator to claim its trophy. When I opened my eyes, I saw Mark removing his jacket and shirt, lying down beside me on the mattress, his arm resting on me as he caressed my lips and cheek with his fingers.
  • "Can I help you out of your dress?" he asked.
