Chapter 5 Meeting A Little One 2
- " Sofia, here are the documents which are nothing more than the marriage contract " he said.
- " Well, let's sign and I'll leave, I can't waste any more time, as I have also mentioned I have work in my office " I said.
- " Not so fast, Sofia, let my lawyer explain the clauses of the contract to you and you decide freely whether you accept it or not, although if you decide not to, the tabloids will know about you in a few days " he said.
- " Excuse me, Mr. Harris, but this seems more like blackmail than a marriage under contract " I replied.
- " Take it as you wish, but those are my conditions " he replied.
- We both stayed staring into each other's eyes, I don't know if it was his intense gaze or his sweet face, but suddenly I felt a fire inside me that made me feel uncomfortable at that moment, so I looked away from Mark Harris.
- " Miss Lopez, if you agree to marry my client " the lawyer spoke " you will receive a certain amount of money, you will have to accompany your husband to certain social events, but don't worry, because Mr. Harris offers you a card with generous funds to buy whatever you need, in addition to all your needs being covered by your soon"to"be husband, Mr. Harris " he finished saying, getting up from the chair where I was very offended.
- " Mr. Harris, I am capable enough to buy everything I desire, I don't need your money as I will not beg for it, I have a good job and a good salary to buy all the whims I want " I replied.
- " Sit down Sofia, there is something you don't know, you no longer have a job, I have made sure the law firm fires you, what do you say now? " he said, seeing a sarcastic smile on Harris' face.
- " What? How? That's impossible, the firm wouldn't fire me without warning me first " I replied, very angry.
- " It's better if you sit down again Miss Lopez, please " the lawyer said.
- " Sofia, now I can't waste any more time, I am offering you a very serious deal and you should be interested in hearing it " Harris said, raising his voice.
- I remained looking at him very serious and motionless, as I realized he was a man who could not be disobeyed, looking at me in such a way that my blood froze in seconds, sitting back in the chair unable to say anything else.
- " I like that better, being obedient, now can we continue with the conditions I impose on you? " he asked, to which I nodded.
- " Well Miss Lopez, I will continue reading " the lawyer said " The acceptance of this contract has certain consequences that will come into effect as soon as it is signed, the marriage ceremony will take place in two days in a discreet and private civil ceremony, obliging you to reside under the same roof as Mr. Harris and his little daughter, assuming the roles of wife and mother " he said.
- " Wait a moment, I am not going to sleep with you in the same bed, one thing is to marry you because you are blackmailing me, but I am not going to be your plaything in your bed, forget about it, because I am not willing " I replied.
- " Sofia, can't you keep your mouth shut for a moment, or do you not understand that you are not in a position to do as you please, the conditions are those and also imposed by me, so please be quiet and listen " Harris said very seriously.
- " You will need to ask permission from your husband to leave the house or for any activity you wish to do, always be at home when Mr. Harris returns from work and his daughter Cintia is taken care of, when at events and accompanied by your husband, there must be displays of affection although you are not allowed to have relationships outside of marriage, it would be a breach of the contract and Mr. Harris may use statements from your past life in the tabloids."
- When Harris's lawyer finished the sentence, I felt my cheeks burning, I was so angry that I would have left that office without looking back, even knowing that that adorable little girl was my daughter and that Harris would air my dirty laundry.
- "Can I leave now? There are too many conditions and I need to think about it," I said, cowering under Harris's piercing gaze.
- "Can I continue, Miss Lopez?" the lawyer asked.
- "Yes, please, but Mr. Harris, all of this is"""
- "Please, Sofia, SHUT UP, I can't waste any more time, I beg you to close your mouth," Harris yelled at me.
- "Let's get to the obligatory part of a married woman towards her husband," the lawyer said, eliciting a small gasp from me as he smiled, looking at the men present.
- "There are clauses that oblige you to engage in marital relations with your future husband, Mr. Harris, allowing your husband to act as such, respecting the sexual activities your husband desires, without sexual limits, ranging from""" the lawyer was interrupted.
- "Okay, please don't continue, that will be seen later, this is just a marriage of convenience, I don't know why you chose me, but those practices you mention will be by mutual agreement and when we both feel that need, I won't let myself be overwhelmed by all of my"""
- "Miss Lopez, I know this part makes you uncomfortable, but we want you to understand the implications that this contract brings and when you sign, you will be accepting all the conditions that Mr. Harris demands," the lawyer told me.
