Chapter 42 Back To Monday

• When I pressed the button on the TV remote and it turned on, my daughter sat on her small and comfortable sofa near the television, while I sat on the sofa next to her, I started thinking and wondering if I wanted my marriage with Mark to go well and to make him love me as much as I loved him, or if it would be better to forget that I was his wife and just see him as my boss as our contract legally stated, to please him when he sought my body in bed and let him please himself when he desired me. Although I didn't want to convince myself that that would be the only thing between us. I closed my eyes thinking about my husband's beautiful eyes, the softness of his hands when they caressed my body, making me feel sensations I never thought anyone could make me feel, I opened my eyes suddenly when the image of Melissa rushed into my head. After dinner, I carried my daughter to her bedroom to bathe her and put on her pajamas, then we both sat on her bed, I turned on the TV in her room, my daughter rested her head on my lap, minutes later I saw Mark enter the room, we looked into each other's eyes, he sat in the small armchair that my daughter had in her room. Once my daughter fell asleep, her father turned off the TV, took my hand to help me get up from my daughter's bed, we tucked her in, both Mark and I kissed her on the forehead, turned off the light and went to our bedroom. Once we entered, Mark went into the bathroom, a few seconds later I heard the water running in the shower, I took off my clothes, put on my nightgown, and lay down on the bed, Mark lay down next to me when he returned from the bathroom, he wrapped his arm around my waist, letting sleep surprise us.
• The next day, after dropping off my daughter at daycare, Mark parked his car near the building where the law firm was located, I kissed my husband and got out of the car. Once I got off the elevator and headed towards my desk after greeting Alice's assistant, I hung my bag on the rack, and a few seconds later Liam opened the door to his office and walked towards me with a smile on his lips.
