Chapter 38 I'm Not One
- The next day, I got up and did what I did every morning: went into the bathroom, showered, got dressed, and then left the bedroom towards the stairs. When I reached the kitchen, I approached where my daughter was sitting, gave her two kisses on her cheeks, and then poured juice into a glass. Mark and I didn't even look at each other or say anything. When we left the house, we walked to Mark's car, he put my little girl in her car seat, and we drove off. When we arrived at the daycare where my daughter went, I got out of the car, but Mark was quicker, he took my daughter and walked her to the daycare door before returning to the car. That morning, Mark parked his car near the law firm building, I looked at him for a few seconds before getting out of the vehicle, realizing that my husband was avoiding my gaze. When I entered the building, I took the elevator to the floor where Liam and Alice's office was, greeted their assistant, and sat at my desk. I hung my bag on my chair, when suddenly I heard a message on my phone, I took it out of my bag and saw that it was from Liam.
- Liam: Good morning beautiful, how are you? " he asked"
- Me: Good morning boss, I'm fine and you?
